Southern California will experience one final day of intense heat on Saturday before a cooldown brings conditions closer to normal for the season, according to ABC7 Los Angeles.
A heat advisory covers a broad swath of Los Angeles County on Saturday, while extreme heat warnings continue through 8 p.m. for inland portions of Orange County and much of the Inland Empire. Some locations may also feel muggy.
Los Angeles and Orange counties are forecast to reach a high of 91 degrees Saturday with a low of 67. The valleys and Inland Empire should climb to 101 degrees under sunny skies before falling to the mid-90s on Sunday.
Beach areas are expected to top out at 81 degrees Saturday and ease into the upper 70s the following day. Mountain communities will see gusty winds with a high near 81 and a low of 49, while desert zones including Palm Springs could hit 110 degrees.
Temperatures across the region will moderate Sunday. Early next week, returning moisture raises the chance of showers from Tuesday through Thursday.
