The cause of death for actor Tim Curry has been confirmed through official records obtained by ABC7 Los Angeles. He died at his home in the Toluca Lake neighborhood one week ago at the age of 80.
Los Angeles County Department of Public Health documents list coronary artery disease as the primary cause. A prior stroke and kidney cancer were identified as significant contributing conditions.
Curry had been using a wheelchair since experiencing a stroke in 2012. He remained in the Los Angeles area until his passing.
Best known for portraying Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Curry received three Tony Award nominations for his stage work in Spamalot, My Favorite Year and Amadeus, along with an Emmy nomination in 1994. Additional film roles included appearances in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Clue and Annie.
