A new report projects that security measures tied to the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles may affect close to 6,000 people living without shelter.

The analysis places the total at 5,975 unsheltered residents within one mile of Olympic venues spread across Los Angeles County. This count surpasses the county's initial planning figure by more than three times.

Researchers noted that the precise perimeters of the security zones have yet to be set, meaning the number of people potentially impacted remains subject to change, according to ABC7 Los Angeles.
