Crews have started restoring Dolly Parton's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame after it sustained damage from vandalism earlier this week, according to ABC7 Los Angeles.
The work includes polishing the star and readying the site for public access once more. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce indicated that the location should be available for viewing again by Friday.
The incident took place Monday night. It came shortly after fans had left flowers, cards and other items at the star in tribute to the singer, who died last month at age 80.
Reports noted expressions of surprise from fans upon learning of the targeting of the memorial site.
