Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and City Councilmember Nithya Raman, her opponent in the mayoral race, described their extended plans for the city's environmental future during a forum focused on climate and sustainability issues.
Erin Stone, a senior LAist reporter specializing in climate and environment, posed questions to each candidate separately for roughly 45 minutes apiece.
The forum was arranged by a coalition of environmental and environmental justice organizations that includes the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters, SCOPE-LA, the Sierra Club, Clean and Healthy California, the Neighborhood Council Sustainability Alliance and Communities for a Better Environment. According to LAist, further reporting and analysis of the candidates' remarks will appear Friday morning.
