A brush fire identified as the Hilary Fire ignited Tuesday afternoon in an unincorporated area near Palmdale, prompting temporary evacuation warnings for residents in two Los Angeles County zones.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department reported the blaze shortly after 2 p.m. along East Barrel Springs Road north of 40th Street East. Firefighters halted its spread just before 3:30 p.m., keeping the total area burned to 74 acres.
All evacuation warnings were rescinded before 4:30 p.m. Further updates are available through the Cal Fire website, according to ABC7 Los Angeles.
