Glendale police detained Calese Crowder, age 39, after officers responded to separate complaints of a man positioning himself near shoppers in two retail locations on a Friday afternoon.
Calls came in around 3:30 p.m. concerning activity at a business in the 1500 block of West Glenoaks Boulevard and at a Marshalls store near South Brand Boulevard and East Broadway, according to FOX 11 Los Angeles.
Crowder, a registered sex offender, was arrested on the parole violation allegation and remains in custody without bail. Records show prior similar incidents in Glendale and Burbank that began in 2021, including two arrests within two months during the previous summer.
He had previously admitted a parole breach that resulted in a jail term exceeding 100 days. Additional earlier cases include a 2023 arrest for peering into a residence and a widely shared video from a Burbank bookstore.
